"Out of Memory" messages: Verify that you have at least 24 megabytes of memory free and quit out of all other applications.
Poor sound quality / no sound: Set the sound to 16 bit, stereo. Check the volume level. PC users - update the sound card device driver. (Check with computer manufacturer for current sound card driver. They typically provide free downloads from their website.) PC users can also check the QuickTime control panel for proper sound configuration.
Poor picture quality: Set the monitor to thousands of color (16bit or higher). If your monitor is only capable of 256 colors you will notice color shifting and color banding.
No video: Install QuickTime. Please see "Getting Started." PC users - check QuickTime control panel for proper monitor configuration.
Poor video quality: Lag in video or dropping of frames can be caused by insufficient RAM or a slow CD drive. Please review "System Requirements" for minimum requirements.
Cursor disappears during videos on PCs or no video / audio: Set "video settings" for QuickTime to "safe mode (GDI only)." QuickTime settings can be found at "settings > control panel > quicktime > video settings."
No audio: Check volume level. PC users - Set Quicktime "Sound Out" to "Direct Sound." Quicktime settings can be found at "settings > control panel > quicktime > sound out."
Entire screen does not fit on the monitor (right and bottom portions cropped): Set the monitor screen size to 1024 x 768 pixels or larger. Mac users - the monitor settings can be found under the "apple symbol > control panel > monitors." PC users - the monitor settings can be found at "Start icon >settings > control panel > display."
Note: RAM Doubler or other memory enhancement utilities may cause problems while running the Planet Architecture application. Please turn the utility off and restart your computer.
